Born and raised in Quincy, Washington. Eric grew up on the family farm, where he learned from a young age to work hard and play hard. During the off season he would Duck hunt and fish for Salmon on the Columbia River. After graduating from college he decided to start a guide business Duck hunting. Eventually he made his way to Alaska and has never left. He loves everything about Alaska and the Kenai River. Fishing for King Salmon is his calling, and if you hang out with him too much, he’ll have you convinced Alaska is the place for you as well!
Ryan Rosenbaum began fishing the Kenai river in 2003. He became fast friends with Eric during the summer while swapping fishing stories over a campfire and good food. While home-base for Ryan and his family is in Lewiston ID he still loves coming up in the summers to fish the Kenai with Eric. Each summer he and his wife LaChelle bring their two daughters, Kaylee and Katelynn, up to Alaska for another season full of fishing, family and fun. When Ryan isn’t fishing on the Kenai, you can find him fishing or hunting somewhere in Alaska, Washington, Idaho, Oregon or Wyoming. In 2005 he continued to pursue his passion and began guiding full time for Hells Canyon Sport Fishing for the reminder of the year. Though Ryan’s ‘home’ rivers may be in ID and WA it all began on the Kenai. Given the nature of guiding year round, no matter the river or conditions you can be assured that when fishing with Ryan your in good hands!
Growing up in Fort Collins, Colorado, Matt’s love for the outdoors was instantaneous. He spent nearly every waking moment in the mountains whether it be fishing, hunting or building houses with his family. Years ago, an immediate friendship formed the moment Eric and Matt met, and you can say it was a match made in heaven. Together, they can do it all – fishing, hunting and building custom homes all the way from Nebraska to Alaska!
The ol’ apple didn’t fall too far from the tree with this one! Just like her dad, Matt, Kyndall loves fishing and anything related to the great outdoors. Born and raised in Lincoln, NE, she finally fulfilled her lifelong dream of visiting Alaska to initially nanny for Eric and his daughters, Avery and Zoey. It didn’t take long for her to realize that her happy place was on the river when Eric would take Kyndall and his daughters out fishing. Shortly after, Eric gave her the nickname “The Sockeye Ninja”. Don’t let her size fool you…from sockeyes to kings, Kyndall can catch ‘em all!
10 days after graduating High School in 2013 Sierra packed her bags and headed to Alaska. Earlier that year Sierra had received a call from Eric, her cousin, asking if she would want to come up and nanny for him during the fishing season. Always one up for an adventure and challenge Sierra accepted. Looking forward to a summer with the Loomis family and meeting Avery (2 1/2 yrs.) and Zoey (6 months) for the first time. Before even setting foot in the great state she knew she loved it. That summer only reaffirmed this with each adventure she had and every moment she spent fishing with family. Come August she was reluctant to leave but eager to begin college. She earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Biology and a Minor in Chemistry from Whitworth University, while being a full time varsity athlete for the Pirates Track and Field team. When summer rolled around each year she found herself back in Alaska on the Kenai river, experiencing its bounty and beauty with the Loomis family. Since graduating she has been able to moose hunt with Eric during the fall and spend more time fishing the summers.
